Very interesting reports emerging that are linking Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger with Mourinho’s job at Real Madrid. Though very flattering the possibilities of Wenger leaving Arsenal any time soon are almost zero!
However, the same cannot be said of Jose Mourinho. The ‘special one’ once again had a negative result against arch rivals Barcelona, this time going down 4-3 on aggregate after pulling 2 goals back to level the scoreline in their Copa Del Rey quarter final return fixture at the Nou Camp.
Despite leading the La Liga table, Madrid’s inability to beat Barca is causing serious problems for Mourinho and restlessness among fans. Madrid has only beaten Barca once in their previous 9 meetings with that victory coming in the finals of this competition last year.
It’s such results coupled with the jeering of Mourinho by fed up fans that is linking Arsene Wenger and German coach Joachim Low as probable replacements for the Portuguese tactician.
It won’t be surprising then if Mourinho leaves Madrid. I mean with reports claiming emerging rifts between the Spanish and Portuguese players and a burst up between Casillas, Ramos and Mourinho are to be believed, this could be the beginning of Madrid’s fall. I can’t imagine what would happen if Barca beats them to the La Liga title.
So with Arsenal looking less likely to make the Champions League next season, and Real in free fall mode, Could these factors motivate either of the two to seriously consider taking up the Madrid Job?
It looks highly unlikey, however, the general feeling among some arsenal fans is that its time for Arsene to leave the club or make some drastic changes to his coaching style at least if he expects them to compete with other top European clubs.
