For those of you who do not know what the silver fox is, it is a term used to describe an older genleman that still is on the top of his game.  For example Brett Favre is often referred to as the silver fox of the NFL.  This list is of the top three Premier League players that have impressed so far this year despite being over 34 years of age.

Ryan Giggs

Like a fine wine it seems that Giggs has gotten better with age.  At 36 years of age Giggs has played in the Premier League for Man U since he was 17 years old.  That makes him the only player still on the team since George Bush Sr. was in office back during his rookie campaign.  But Giggs may be well on his way to his best season ever with the long running squad.  Right now he has eight assists and he may finish the year with his most impressive total ever compiled.  The last time the Welsh Wizard was able to achieve ten plus assists was back in 2005.

Graham Alexander

What a year it has been for ancient defender Graham Alexander.  After nearly leading his underdog national squad, Scotland, into the World Cup; the thirty eight year old is proving the critics wrong by leading Burnley as well to Premiership survival in their first year on the top flight.  Alexander not only leads a strong back line, but the old man also leads the club in goals scored with five.

Brad Friedel

At thirty eight years old Friedel has held up nicely for Aston Villa.  The aging keeper has started all 20 matches this season and currently has achieved seven clean sheets which is among the best results in the league.  Villa also has a top three defense in goals given up as well.
