Miss Cleo’s Picks of the Week (Nov 7)

by BrianHall on November 7, 2009

She’s back!  Miss Cleo enjoyed her week off last weekend and your favorite false prophet also enjoyed tricking people into foolishly giving out their credit card numbers.  But enough about stealing….  What about this weeks picks?  Lets take a look at the cards.

What can be said about Aston Villa.  They currently are in seventh place and look to be a contender for a UEFA spot by season’s end.  This weekend they get the treat of playing against Bolton who last week was embarrassed by Chelsea 4-0.  Expect similar results in this one as Villa should cruise to victory 3-1.  Blackburn-Portsmouth is a battle of the bad to say the least.  Which of these bubble squads will make the critical push up the league table and which one will be chilling in the relegation zone for a little bit longer?  Call me crazy, but Portmouth was fantastic last weekend and the squad is no longer a subject of ridicule.  Portmouth wins 2-1.

Arsenal has a key chance to move up the board three points with an away match against the lowly Wolves.  Expect the Gunners to take advantage of the match-up and win easily 4-0.  Hull City has been the worst Premier League squad in the last 30 matches only winning three.  Expect things to not get much better with a tough home match against Stoke CityStoke wins 2-1.

As for the final three matches: Liverpool has had their fair share of problems this season, but expect the Reds to prevail over Birmingham even if their star players are banged up or even out of the lineup.  Liverpool wins 2-0.  Everton will begin the serious push this week up the table with a shutout over West Ham 2-0.  And in the final match of the week, Fulham will edge out Wigan 1-0 thanks to a Clint Dempsey goal.
