A positive news arrives from Arsenal‘s camp as one of their injured player, Johan Djorou, who previously being rumored to be out for the season, could make a faster come back after confirmation from the club’s official site stated that the defender should only need about a month absence from the pitch. The site explained that after doing an exploratory surgery, the medical team concluded that Djorou won’t be needing a re-constructive surgery and would only required a month of rehabilitation program.
“Arsenal defender Johan Djourou has undergone exploratory surgery on his dislocated shoulder, sustained at Old Trafford in the recent FA Cup fixture against Manchester United. The club can confirm the positive news that there isn’t a need for reconstructive surgery and he will now begin a period of rehabilitation on the shoulder before returning to training in around a month.” read a statemen on Arsenal’s site.
This news surely gives a smile on Arsene Wenger’s face as at least within a month, Djorou can already fill the troubled back line that the Gunners have since the long time injury of Thomas Vermaelen, who hasn’t even return from his injury until now. Although Djorou will still be sidelined for a while, the player will return at the moment where the competition gets tough for the Gunners, and with their injury issues, the availability of a trustworthy defender is always a plus.
Djorou himself picked up the bad shoulder injury during Arsenal’s FA Cup tie against Manchester United, few weeks ago, the first prediction stated that the Swiss international would be sidelined until the end of the season. Surely the latest updates has already bring a sigh of relief for Wenger, as after having problems in the keeper department, it would be a big blow should the Gunners miss too many defenders as well.
