English Premier League could be welcoming another Brazilian talent as the latest reports suggested, Wolfsburg’s Diego Ribas, who is set to leave his current club after falling out with the team’s coach, is keen on playing in the premiership.
Moreover, the player himself has also confirmed that he already received several interesting offers from EPL teams, which unfortunately he refuse to name because negotiation is still at an early stage.
“At this moment, England is where I want to play. We are just starting to have conversations with clubs so it’s too early to say where I will be going, but it would be perfect if I can play in the Premier League,” Diego stated. I prefer not to mention the names of clubs out of respect for the managers and the owners, but it’s true that there is contact with some clubs in England. Of course I will give these offers special attention because it’s my dream to play in the Premier League.
Having already admitted that he is very keen on tasting the premiership and the fact that Wolfsburg are also more than willing to let him go, Diego is optimistic that the German side won’t be holding him for ransom. Although the Brazilian midfielder is still unsure about the potential transfer fee that Wolfsburg would be demanding, he believes since both parties are already having the same idea, his departure won’t be difficult as long as the bidders are serious.
I have no idea in this moment of the exact fee, but I think because Wolfsburg and myself both want the same solution it will not be so difficult. When everybody wants the same outcome it makes things easier but I have not been told a number yet. I think it’s best if the club and myself go in different directions. I hope the move can work out well for everyone,” Diego added.
The Brazilian playmaker actually has just arrived at Wolfsburg last summer after having a bad spell in Italy with Juventus, the 26-years-old still have three years left on his contract but reports stated he would be allowed to leave because of his bad relationship with the German club’s coach, Felix Magath. It’s been quite a while since Diego has performed well as his last two seasons have been considered a failure, which is rather surprising since before landing in Italy, the ex-Santos player was performing superbly with Werder Bremen in Bundesliga.
Should Diego really ends up in the premiership it would definitely be interesting to see on whether he can finally lift his old performance back as the last two seasons instead of being admired for his performances on the pitch, the player gets more criticism due to his poor behavior.
