Spanish giants Real Madrid are expected to lose a number of key players this month as another of their brightest talents Angel Di Maria said to have welcomed offers from both Manchester United and Chelsea.
Along with Kaka and Esteban Granero, Di Maria is the third player who could possibly leave the Bernabeu this month.
According to reports coming through, Madrid coach Jose Mourinho is already thought to be eying a move to block Chelsea’s £38 million pound bid for the attacking midfielder.
Di Maria is said to be unhappy with his £1.65 million annual salary at Madrid and is thought to be negotiating for a pay rise that does not seem forthcoming. This coupled with his fall down Mourinho’s pecking order are the main reasons that have spiked Chelsea’s interest in the 23 year old Argentine.
Adding just my two cents worth here, i think Di Maria is far better than ozil. Truth be said, Di Maria is one of Real’s best attacking players. It’s only a shame that injury has kept him from playing his best this season.
Not only can he attack and dribble which Ozil can do as well, but he is also very clinical in front of goal compared to Ozil and he can create opportunities out of nothing something that Ozil has failed to do for most of the season despite starting on a number of occassions.
Meanwhile, Madrid comfortably qualified to the quarter finals of the Copa Del Rey after a slender 1-0 away win over Malaga last night. Karim Benzema was the hero of the night.
The France international who has seen a resurgence in his form scored the 72 minute winner after a blunder for Malaga keeper Willy Caballero saw him fluff Benzema’s shot and let it pass through his legs and roll slowly into the back of the net.
The win puts Madrid on a possible collision course with their arch rivals Barcelona who they could face in their next match or as the tournament progresses.
