De Gea To Seal Man United Move After Undergoing Medical

by Dewa Nugraha on June 28, 2011

David De GeaDespite the recent denial about already sealing a deal with Manchester United, David De Geal looks all but set into becoming the heir of Edwin Van Der Sar after reports in England confirmed that the Atletico Madrid keeper have already undergo a medical check up at Manchester.

According to the reports, the player attended the routine medical check up on Monday afternoon and will surely soon be announced as the new Red Devil’s signing in the summer.

De Gea’s arrival is somewhat already being predicted by the media, despite the player did made a statement denying that he has already agreed terms with United, earlier this month. However, with the latest news of his medical check up, it’s obvious that his previous statement was simply being done in order to keep his focus solely on giving his best at the UEFA Euro under 21 with his country Spain.

Moreover, the media in England also stated that Man United, who have been really active in the transfer market despite it’s still very early, will be spending around 17,8 million pound to prize up De Geal from Atletico Madrid. The highly rated young Spaniard will definitely be set as the number one keeper at United from next summer, as despite of his young age, the confidence that Sir Alex Ferguson had especially in agreeing the transfer fee pretty much confirmed the keeper’s future at Old Trafford.

De Gea has been playing really well for Atletico Madrid until last season, in which he is being heralded as one of the best goal keepers in the Spanish League alongside the likes of Iker Casillas and also Victor Valdes. Not only that, Liverpool‘s current goalie, Pepe Reina, who is also a Spanish international, also gives a very high recommendation for De Gea, saying that the 20-years-old will be able to prove how good he is as soon as possible.

“I very much welcome this news because David is a great keeper. When it becomes official he is going to start working to prove in the Premier League what a good goalkeeper he is,” Reina stated.
