233896999Andre Villas-Boas’ arrival at Chelsea obviously set a new start for the Blues and although things is still in process, David Luiz is confident that the tactician will be successful in the premier league.

Luiz himself is very excited with the former FC Porto’s coach arrival since Villas-Boas speaks the same language as the Brazilian international defender, which is considered as a plus point for the ex-Benfica player.

Luiz also revealed that Villas-Boas after uses Portuguese language when speaking to him and other players, who spoke the same language, the defender believes that this kind of approach could make the adaptation process easier for him compared to the time when Carlo Ancelotti still managing the Blues. Not that the ex-Benfica man doesn’t like the Italian coach, Luiz simply believes that it’s easier for him at the moment to work with someone who can give him specific instruction without any language barrier.

“Villas-Boas deserves to be in charge at Chelsea and I am convinced he will succeed in England, Every coach has a different style of work. Andre is different to Ancelotti and I am hoping for more success than last season. I had respect for Ancelotti but, of course, it is easy when the manager also speaks my language. During training sometimes he speaks Portuguese to the Portuguese speakers and it’s easier to understand. Maybe we could use it as a secret tactic in matches,” Luiz revealed

Continuing the Portuguese connection, the Brazilian defender also shares his optimism regarding one of Chelsea’s summer signing, Raul Meirelles, who Luiz believes can be an important signing for the Blues this season. The Brazilian international ‘s judgement over Meirelles ability is pretty much based on the defender’s experience when he faced the ex-Liverpool player in Portuguese league few seasons ago.

We have made good signings and I think Raul Meireles can be a big player for us. We played against each other in Portugal and he was difficult to stop. It is sensational he can increase our level on the pitch,” Luiz added.

It remains to see whether the new Portuguese connection at Chelsea can really be as successful as Luiz predicted, especially the performance of the Brazilian defender himself this season, who is yet to have his start in the league because of fitness issue. The London outfit is set to face another test in the premier league this weekend against Sunderland, who caused them problem last season, a victory is definitely a must target to compete at the top with the Manchester duo, who are leading the league.
