Chelsea Should Make a Splash in the Transfer Pool This Summer

Just like the stuff that makes fairy tales, Chelsea‘s curse has been lifted for good.  The elite Premier League squad was currently supposed to be suspended from making any transfer moves this summer, but that ban has been recently removed and the powerhouse club will be able to sign as many players as they want.

The club actually could have made a move this most recent transfer window in January, but the Blues promised to remain inactive as a sign of good faith for future windows to be available.  The club’s patience paid off and many star players that were interested in moves to Chelsea this January will have to wait until next season to play for the first place squad. Among those names of potential Blues players in 2010/2011 are Sergio Aguero of Atletico Madrid and Franck Ribery of Bayern Munich.

Chelsea was originally given a two transfer window ban for the alleged illegal move of French teenager Gael Kakuta, but the higher court ruled that the move was legitimate after all.  Chelsea has had a pleasant last few weeks of news.  The club recently had Didier Drogba rejoin them from the African Nations Cup and the squad is also currently in first place.

Now they just have the home stretch to go and also a critical match-up against former coach Jose Mourinho’s squad Inter of Serie A.  The last few months should make for an exciting finish and Chelsea is one of the most interesting stories this season.  But the good news for the club regardless to how the season finishes is that this summer some new faces will likely be joining the squad.

As if they really need any more help.
