Supporters zingen spelers toe na de wedstrijdWith two hours to go until the transfer window closes again, the world’s football media are focusing their attention on Liverpool. It is looking likely that the Anfield side will have former Newcastle striker Andy Carroll in their ranks to team up with Luis Suarez in their frontline at the end of today. There will be no Fernando Torres anymore however. Torres is tonight putting pen to paper on a deal worth £50 million pound to become a Chelsea player. With Torres out and Suarez and Carroll in, that’s not the end of it for Liverpool. The Charlie Adam rumours have returned and this time they are stronger than ever. The Blackpool midfielder could be a Liverpool midfielder before the new day dawns in the North-West of England on Tuesday. Adam is likely to go for more than £10 million if he does make a move away from Bloomfield Road.

Hot prospect and England international Carroll has reportedly cost Liverpool more than £35 million pound. The debate has already begun as to whether that is value for money, but the answers will only be provided when he pulls on the red shirt. That won’t be for a little while though as Carroll is on the treatment table currently recovering from injury.

Chelsea have signalled their intentions further as they are looking to bring in central defender David Luiz from Portugal’s Benfica. The highly rated stopper is currently rumoured to be in talks with the Stamford Bridge outfit. Pundits believe that if they bring in their intended targets before the close of business, that could signal a resurgence which will put them well and truly back in the title race.

Harry Redknapp has said things will be quiet at Tottenham tonight, but he said that just before they signed Rafael Van der Vaart last deadline day. Redknapp has confirmed a bid for Everton‘s Phil Neville however, but doesn’t expect the deal to go through. Avram Grant has been quoted as saying that West Ham are trying to bring in one more player but wouldn’t hint as to who. Ian Holloway may be busy too, looking to spend some of the money that he could receive for Adam to help maintain their Premiership survival push. Villa have signed American Michael Bradley, Blackburn have signed Barcelona youngster Rochins and Bolton have bagged Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge on loan.

Eidur Gudjohnsen who moved in the last transfer window could be on the move again and is currently having a medical at Fulham.
