I had high hopes for Marouane Chamakh when he joined Arsenal back in 2010, however, he has failed to live up to his billing and a move away from the Emirates does not look forth coming any time soon.
I thought Chelsea striker Fernando Torres was struggling until i had a look at Chamakh’s stats. Chamakh has managed to score only 8 goals since joining Arsenal as a free transfer in the summer of 2010.
Things are only made worse with him having only started one Premier League game this season. However, Chamakh has downplayed rumours linking him with a move away from Arsenal and has vowed to stay and fight for his place in the squad.

Queens Park Rangers are set to land Nigerian international Taye Taiwo from Italian champions AC Milan within the coming days. The left back joined Milan from Marseille last summer but has struggled to make it to the first team despite not suffering from any injuries.
The finer details of Taiwo ‘s transfer are not clear, however what is known is that the defender will be joining QPR on a loan deal. The reason i am totally against this move is because Milan need Taiwo more than QPR.
Just as it was expected, Gary Cahill, finally arrived at Chelsea after the London club cashed out an amount around 7 million pound to Bolton Wanderers, so the England international can team up with John Terry at the back.
Revealing his joy after signing for the Blues, Cahill admitted that accepting Andre Villas-Boas’ team’s offer is something that he must passed on especially since the player is eying to improve his quality.
Despite already making a move in the January market by grabbing Thierry Henry on loan until February, Arsenal‘s manager, Arsene Wenger, still doesn’t really show much enthusiasm about this winter transfer window.
In his thought, this month isn’t really the perfect time to acquire players especially since the ones available are usually those who are looking for a way out from their club and didn’t really have much playing time.
Getting close in securing Gary Cahill from Bolton Wanderers, Chelsea apparently will still continue their surge in the winter transfer market and capture at least another quality player.
This confirmation was revealed by the club’s tactician, Andre Villas-Boas, who unfortunately still can’t confirm, whose the other player they’re trying to grab this January aside from Cahill.

Manchester City‘s coach, Roberto Mancini, reveals that they might try to snatch an additional midfielder in the January transfer window, but it will only happen once they managed to offload some of their current unused players, including Carlos Tevez.
Mancini reveals that there are around three to four players that his club planned to offload this winter and the manager is very hopeful that everything would happen just as planned.
Federico Macheda’s path with Manchester United‘s first team doesn’t seem to cross again as after experiencing a six month loan to Sampdoria last season, the Italian is walking in a pretty similar road again in this second part of the season.
After tasting a rather bitter Serie A experience, this time Macheda isn’t moving that far as he is temporarily stayed with fellow premiership side, Queens Park Rangers, which the young striker believes could be the perfect spot for him.
Thiery Henry’s short return to Arsenal is pretty much imminent but theres still some question being raised regarding the necessity of the deal as some doesn’t really understand what would the Gunners gain with Henry’s addition aside from a short stop gap solution.
However, the London outfit’s keeper, Wojciech Szczesny, shuts down the doubters by stating that acquiring the club’s legend even for only two months is very important indeed.

Didier Drogba, Gary Cahill, Andrei Arshavin and Andy Johnson headline the list of Premier League stars who are out of contract at the end of the season according to Goal.com, and could be available on a free transfer this summer.
You could put together a pretty competitive side from this list. Tim Howard in goal, back four of Jose Bosingwa, Gary Cahill, Sylvain Distin, Jonathan Woodgate. Midfield of Andrei Arshavin, Ryan Giggs, Mohamed Diame and a forward line of Didier Drogba, Salomon Kalou, Andy Johnson
One name not on the list anymore is Nicolas Anelka who has already left Chelsea and signed with Chinese side Shanhai Shenhua.
