Thierry Henry’s short return to Arsenal apparently has been considered very useful for club’s manager, Arsene Wenger, as he is currently hoping that Henry’s loan could be extended for another two weeks.
Wenger revealed that the veteran striker brought plenty positive attitudes for the other players as they listen and learn lots of things from the Gunners’ legend, something that obviously helped the tactician’s job in improving his team’s performance.

Tottenham yesterday saw both Roman Pavlyuchenko and Steven Pienaar leave White Hart Lane for Lokomotiv Moscow and Everton respectfully. Both moves do not come as a surprise, in fact if anything, they were both overdue.
After having been linked with a move away from Tottenham for quite some time, Pavyluchenko finally made the switch to Lokomotiv for a reported £8 million. In his 4 year stint with Tottenham, Pavyluchenko made 113 appearances scoring 42 goals in the process.

The January 2011 transfer window was a blockbuster one as Premier League teams spent over £210 MILLION on transfers. Amongst the big spenders were Chelsea (David Luiz £21.4m, Fernando Torres £50m), Liverpool (Andy Carroll £35m, Luis Suarez £22.8m) and Aston Villa (Darren Bent £18m, Jean Makoun £6m). After acquiring Taye Taiwo from Ac Milan, Queens Park Rangers‘ continue to collect another ex-Serie A base player by completing the signing of Djibril Cisse from Lazio for a fee worth around 5 million Euro.
Cisse, who also had premiership experience with Liverpool few seasons ago, has already talked to the press about his arrival, revealing that coach Mark Hughes and the exciting project that QPR are creating attracted him.
Chelsea have completed the signing of 20 year old Kevin De Bruyne from Belgian side FC Genk. A 5 year, £6.7 million deal has been agreed by both parties after which Bruyne will be loaned back to Genk for the rest of the season.
De Bruyne who underwent a medical yesterday at Chelsea’s training grounds becomes Chelsea’s second signing in this transfer window after Gary Cahill completed his move from Bolton earlier this month.

With just a day left in the transfer window, the normal last minute rush that has been so common in past years looks non existent with many clubs choosing to remain very quite in this January.
Carlos Tevez’s big money transfer that we were all keenly looking forward to failed to materialise after City refused to back down on their €30 million buying price. However, despite that, there have been no mega transfer in the league.

According to the Daily Mirror on Sunday, Manchester City have rejected an offer from Liverpool to swap Carlos Tevez for Andy Carroll.
According to the exclusive in the newspaper, Liverpool approached Man City‘s Football Administration Officer Brian Marwood with the offer 48 hours ago, just hours after beating the Blues in the Carling Cup semi-final.
But City were not interested, as while they are desperate to offload Tevez, City boss Roberto Mancini reportedly has no interest in signing Andy Carroll.

A clearly angry Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has ruled out Carlos Tevez’s move to Italian giants AC Milan. Mubarak who did not mince his words during an interview with The National in Abu Dhabi.
Mubarak is livid with the way Milan have conducted themselves the entire time and have continually maintained that loaning him with the option of buying at the end of the season is not an option.

Taye Taiwo has finally been officially unveiled as Queens Park Rangers‘ new signing this January and the player express his gratitude towards the club’s manager, Mark Hughes, who reportedly was then one asking for the Nigerian international.
The six months loan deal with possible buy out clause at the end of season was actually done few days ago, but it’s just got active after Taiwo received his working permit, a basic conditions for foreigners to play in the premier league.

Arsenal‘s manager, Arsene Wenger, remains confident in his believes that splashing more money on the winter market isn’t the best solution for his team, despite admitting that the current injury crisis are the reasons for their poor results in the last three league matches.
Speaking after his team’s 2-1 defeat against Manchester United, Wenger stated that the results won’t pushed him to commit in the market as he preferred to wait for the injured ones returning to action again.
