Two second half goals from Yaya Touré kept Manchester City are on the verge of winning their first league title since 1968.

The title race will go down to the last game of the season after Manchester United beat Swansea City 2-0, but it would be a monumental collapse if City did not win the title now.

In a tense match at St. James Park, Newcastle frustrated and harried City for 70 minutes before Yaya Toure broke the deadlock with a superb shot from the edge of the box.

This season is turning into a nightmare for Arsenal fans after today’s 3-3 draw at home against Norwich.

Arsenal’s fans worst fears are that Spurs finishes above the Gunners in third place and that Chelsea grab that fourth Champions League spot by beating Bayern Munich in the Champions League final in two weeks. That combination would send Arsenal into the Europa League next season.

And after today’s draw at home against Norwich, Arsenal are now two points clear of Tottenham and Newcastle, however, Arsenal have only one game left this season while the others have two.

After months of speculation concerning the future of their biggest player, German club FC Cologne, has finally revealed that their 26 year old striker Lukas Podolski will be leaving the club at the summer.

Podolski who has been linked with a move to the Emirates all season long, will join Arsenal in the summer for an undisclosed fee. The deal has been touted as a ‘pro-active’ move for Arsenal Boss Arsene Wenger who many say is starting to realise the importance of experience in his squad after another trophyless season.

Arsenal failed again to grab the all important three points as their attempt in running away from their competitors for third place halted again, this time by Stoke City, who held Arsene Wenger’s side 1-1 at Brittania Stadium.

However, their current third place spot is still safe because their closest rival, Newcastle United were surprisingly trashed by relegation battler, Wigan Athletic, 4-0 at DW Stadium, a shocking result indeed for Alan Pardew’s boys.

Some good news or bad (depending on how you take it) for all Arsenal fans. Brazilian midfielder Denilson is expected back at the club in the summer after a deal to extend his loan spell with Sao Paolo fell through.

The 24 year old’s career with Arsenal seemed o be over however, after failing to reach an agreement with Sao Paolo, Denilson is expected back in London ahead of the 2012/2013 season.

Speaking to reporters, Denilson revealed that break down in talks with Sao Paolo will see him return to the Arsenal.

Failing two pick up any victories in their last two matches puts Arsenal‘s third place spot under thread at the moment as Newcastle United are closing in with only three points behind Arsene Wenger’s boys plus a game in hand as well.

This tricky situation however, doesn’t worry the Gunners’ defender, Thomas Vermaelen, who simply believed that his team will eventually finished this season at third place and acquire the direct Champions League group stage qualification.

Arsenal captain Robin Van Persie was yesterday named the PFA Player of the Year after an amazing 12 months that has seen him break and establish new records with the Gunners.

Van Persie pipped Manchester players Wayne Rooney, Sergio Aguero, David Silva and Joe Hart to win the award. The 28 year old striker is currently the league’s top scorer with 27 goals.

Picking up only a point against Arsenal apparently didn’t left much disappointment for Chelsea as they feel that getting the draw at Emirates is an acceptable result, although that result didn’t really push their chance in acquiring the Champions League spot.

Apparently the Blues’ European focus becomes one of the reason why they didn’t take too many chances in this weekend game, as the midweek tie against Barcelona is being considered more important at the moment.

Arsenal‘s failure in beating Chelsea this weekend probably isn’t the most disappointing thing for Arsene Wenger as another injury problem for one of his important players, Theo Walcott, might be more annoying for the manager.

Having already missing Jack Wilshere from the start of season and also Mikel Arteta, who picked up an injury against Wigan, the Gunners could also lose Walcott for the remaining of this current season.

The pretty highly anticipated London derby between Arsenal against Chelsea which us important in deciding both teams’ Champions League spot ended rather disappointingly as no goals were scored in the game.

It might be a pretty acceptable result for both but that didn’t actually pushed their attempt in acquiring their European ambition, especially for Chelsea who are still stuck at 6th place at the moment, two place behind the final Champions spot.
