Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has been ruled out for the remainder of the season with an ankle injury and “will not go” to Euro 2012 with England, Gunners manager Arsene Wenger confirmed on Monday.
A stress fracture to his right ankle has prevented Wilshere from playing this season, but both the player and Wenger had been optimistic that he would return to play some part in the end-of-season run-in.
But speaking after Arsenal’s surprise 2-1 loss at home to Wigan in the Barclays Premier League tonight, Wenger said:
Bad news arrived for Aston Villa and potentially England national team as Darren Bent’s injury appeared to be really bad as reports claim that the striker would be out until the rest of season.
Having his left ankle ruptured in the game against Wigan on Saturday, apparently could face up until 12 weeks absence, which would pretty much forced him in race to get match fit ahead of the Euro 2012.
England national team’s strength on their upcoming tie against Netherlands are looking to be a bit depleted as Stuart Pearce’s side will apparently be playing without two Manchester United players, Wayne Rooney and Top Cleverly.
This news was confirmed by the Red Devils’ tactician himself, Sir Alex Ferguson, who believed that his two men won’t be fit enough to play in midweek tie and they would be more prepared to play in the weekend match against Tottenham Hotspurs.

I wrote yesterday that Fabio Capello And FA were set for a fireworks meeting today with neither site apparently ready to concede ground over John Terry.
Well after meeting today, it became apparent that the two sides could no longer work together and the FA has announced that Fabio Capello has stepped down as England manager.
An FA statement read:

Today (Wednesday) the FA and Fabio Capello are expected to meet over the John Terry situation, and it appears that neither side is willing to concede anything to the other.
Capello will be asked by Football Association chairman David Bernstein to explain why he committed a serious breach of FA protocol in his explosive Italian television interview on Sunday.
Capello made a direct challenge to the authority of his FA employers when he told Italian TV station Rai that he still wanted Terry to be his captain.
