Manchester United missed the chance to extend their lead atop the Premier League table Sunday after they were held to a 4-4 draw at home by Everton. The Red Devils seemed to be costing to a famous 4-2 victory until two quick goals from Nikica Jelavic and Steven Pienaar rescued a dramatic point for Everton with only minutes left in the game.

United could have scored the winner in the 95th minute however, Tim Howard pulled off a phenomenal save to deny Rio Ferdinand what could have been the winner.

Manchester United have been named the most valuable football club in the world for the eight consecutive year by Forbes.

United are also ranked as the most valuable team in any sport, worth $2.24billion (£1.4bn), $385million more than baseball’s New York Yankees and the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys.

Arsenal are fourth on the list, worth £800m, behind Real Madrid (£1.17bn) and Barcelona (£816m) but just ahead of Bayern Munich (£766m).

The Forbes list ranks Chelsea in seventh place, worth £474m, and Liverpool eighth with a value of £386m. Tottenham are 11th on the list, valued at £351m, and Manchester City 13th, worth £276m.

Premier League leaders Manchester United inched closer toward a 20th league title after seeing off Aston Villa 4-0 at Old Trafford yesterday. The match was however not without it’s share of controversy as the Red Devils were awarded a penalty that will not doubt keep rival fans angered at the decisions that always seem to go their way.

Did this decision change the face of the game?  Aston Villa like the majority of United rivals believe so.  However, United coach Sir Alex Ferguson though admitting that Young was looking for a penalty, was quick to praise his team for their good performance.

Manchester City mathematically are still alive in the title race with their city rival, Manchester United, especially after the positive midweek results which saw Roberto Mancini’s team cutting the gap again into five points with Sir Alex Ferguson’s team.

However, this situation apparently still doesn’t encourage Mancini in believing his team’s chance in overtaking Man United and eventually winning the league by the end of season.

Huge upset in the Premier League title race tonight as Manchester United lost 1-0 to Wigan, and Manchester City took advantage of the slip by their quiet neighbors to beat West Brom and move within five points of the league leader.

Wigan started the day in the relegation zone and not many of their fans gave them much of a chance against United, especially since they had never taken as much as a point off United in the Premier League. However, Roberto Martínez’s side totally outplayed United on the right and got the result they deserved when men Shaun Maloney scored off a short corner in the 50th minute. The win moved Wigan two points clear of the bottom three.

Manchester United‘s success in leapfrogging Manchester City have given lots of pressure for the Eastlands as according to United’s winger, Ashley Young his side is pretty much playing without any fear at all.

Young believes that at the moment City players are feeling the fear of completely losing track of the league title, especially as Roberto Mancini’s team kept on struggling while Sir Alex Ferguson’s side can’t seem to stop winning.

A 2-0 win over Balckburn Rovers pushed United 5 points clear at the top of the EPL table with 7 matches left to play. Speaking after the match, United boss Sir Alex Ferguson praised his team’s performance saying that it could prove to be a very important moment in the title race.

Late goals from Ashley and Antonio Valencia condemned Blackburn to a late loss that could see them relegated at the end of the season.

“It was a long night, we had to persevere and persevere and we got our reward in the end but I have to admit that I thought for a long time it wouldn’t come because we didn’t make many clear-cut chances,” Ferguson said.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has responded to Man City director of football Patrick Vieira’s claims that refs usually favour his team dismissed the claims by turning the point finger back at City as he mentioned cases where they have benefited from referees errs in judgment.

Speaking to reporters, Ferguson who has himself been on the bad side of the law with the FA advised Vieira against making such comments saying that it could lead to serious consequences with the FA.

Manchester United are setting themselves for a complicated meeting against Blackburn Rovers on the weekend and Sir Alex Ferguson warned his players that it won’t be an easy ride for them especially since the last few meetings between haven’t been kind for Ferguson’s boys.

The veteran tactician noted that playing against the Rovers always had a little bit of Derby feeling into it, resulting in a feisty encounter which usually reflected with a tight scoreline.

Manchester United‘s manager, Sir Alex Ferguson is pretty content with the victory that his team picked up against Fulham on Monday, although he admit that he last 15 minutes wasn’t actually a pretty sight at Old Trafford.

Although wasn’t all pleased especially with the rather nervy last few minutes, Ferguson overall is pleased with his team’s performance, stating that they deserved the victory, while praising the performance of Antonio Valencia.
