Landon Donovan has agreed to join Everton on a two-month loan from MLS side Los Angeles Galaxy.
The agreement, which was reached on Thursday following recent discussions between Everton, LA Galaxy and Major League Soccer, is pending paperwork that needs to be finalised.
Once that is completed, Donovan is set to join Everton over the Christmas period and would be eligible to face Bolton on January 4. The loan deal would last until after the derby against Liverpool on February 25.
Everton boss David Moyes said about the deal:
After a pretty long wait, Everton fans can finally breath a sight of relief over the future of Marouane Fellaini, who finally extended his stay at Goodison Park until 2016.
This news obviously gives a joy for the fans and also manager, David Moyes, who is very keen on seeing Fellaini, continue his career with the Toffees, despite many interesting offers continue to arrive for the 23-years-old Belgium international.
Bafana Bafana and Tottenham play maker Steven Pienaar has admitted that life has not been easy for him since he left Everton. However, Pienaar who has struggled to establish himself as a regular in Harry Redknapp’s starting line up, maintained that he is not about to quit the team just yet.
The 29 year old has featured for Tottenham just 12 times since his £3 million move in January. When interviewed by the Independent, Pienaar maintained that he had no regrets about leaving Everton.
“Regrets? No, not at all,” Pienaar said.

In London for a conference and I could not miss an opportunity to see the two best American players in the Premier League; Tim Howard and Clint Dempsey, meet at Craven Cottage on a beautiful Sunday in London.
If you have never been to Craven Cottage before, the ground is situated right next to the river Thames. That means you can be standing having you pie and beer before the match, watching people sailing in the river.
The lead atop the EPL table tightened on Saturday after wins for both Manchester City and Chelsea coupled with United’s draw at Anfield allowed City to move above United with a slight 2 point advantage.
Of course, all attention was focused on the Liverpool-United fixture with many looking to see whether the Red Devils would maintain their perfect record in the league.
United did maintain their record, however, it was not without a struggle. Liverpool came close to securing a win on 3 occasions towards the end of the game, but a brilliant David De Gea was equal to the task.
Two Manchester teams, continue their winning run in the premier league this weekend proving that their disappointing results in Europe didn’t really affect their domestic performances as both successfully beaten their opponents this Saturday.
Manchester United bagged a 2-0 victory over their visitor, Norwich City, while the Eastlands salvaged their Champions League defeat with a trashing over Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park.
Manchester City restart their winning ways in the league after picking up a 2-0 victory against Everton at Etihad stadium, with their bench players making an important contribution as all the goals comes from the substitutes.
City’s bad boy, Mario Balotelli, pretty much the one that inspired the team’s victory as the Italian international broke the deadlock midway in the second period before James Milner sealed the victory in the last minute.

Everton‘s troubles continue as they were only able to name 18 players, seven short of the maximum, in their official squad submitted to the Premier League.
However, that 18 does not include Under-21 players, so the likes of Ross Barkley do not feature but are still eligible to play as clubs can use an unlimited number of younger-age players.
The Toffees were the least active in the summer transfer window, bringing in only Royston Drenthe and Denis Stracqualursi on loan on deadline day as Mikel Arteta, Ayegbeni Yakubu and Jermaine Beckford all departed.

Liverpool gave Kenny Dalglish his 200th win in charge of the club as Luis Suarez inspired a comfortable 3-1 Carling Cup second-round victory over Exeter at St James Park while elsewhere Championship sides West Ham and Bristol City were dumped out of the Carling Cup by lower-league opposition.
The Uruguayan grabbed the opener after 23 minutes as he volleyed home, before teeing up Maxi Rodriguez and substitute Andy Carroll to put a seal on the victory after the break.
It wasn’t all smooth sailing for Liverpool though as Raul Meireles went off injured, inside the first quarter of the game, clutching his shoulder after coming off worse in a challenge with Danny Coles.
