Struggling to get first team action last season and didn’t really impressed during his loan time, Arsenal‘s young striker, Carlos Vela, was previously linked to move away from the London club but those rumors were squashed away by the player’s agent, Eduardo Hernandez.
Speaking to ESPN Radioformula, Hernandez stated that he already held a discussion with the Gunners’ management resulting in the decision that the player will not be going anywhere from the Emirates stadium in the upcoming season.
Hernandez also added that aside from Arsene Wenger’s disappointment from the unsuccessful loan that Vela spent at West Brom last summer, the French tactician still has good faith for Vela’s future. That reason is pretty much enough to ensure that the Mexican international will remain as one of the Gunners’ players in the new season, although there’s always a chance that he might go on loan once again.
“I have had eight conversations with Arsenal, the most recent was last Friday, and Carlos is an Arsenal player, he will stay at Arsenal and is not for sale. The process with Carlos is a little bit slow. Arsene Wenger is an extremely demanding coach. He sent him on loan for six months to West Brom not with the results he wanted, but, nevertheless, everything is going very well,” Hernandez revealed.
When he first arrived at the club few seasons ago, Vela was dubbed as a promising talent that could become a star at the club, but it seems that things haven’t go in favor for the Mexican international as until last season he still didn’t managed to seal first team spot at Emirates. In the hope to get regular playing time, Wenger loaned out the attacker to West Brom in the end of January. Unfortunately, the player only made eight appearances and collected two goals, which can be considered very low for a supposedly potential player.
Surely, it would be a big task for Vela if he really wants to keep a place in the Gunners line up in the new season especially if the Gunners do fulfill the fans’ wishes in buying new star players for the team. However, rumors about several departures might actually helped the Mexican international dream in securing a place in the team and not having to be included in another loan deal to smaller clubs.
