Big Sam Says No To West Brom

by David on February 7, 2011

samallardyce0707up0Sam Allardyce has said thanks but thanks to West Brom as he is not interested in replacing Roberto Di Matteo as Baggies manager.

Allardyce, who is a former West Brom player, coach and assistant manager was reported to top of the wanted list at the Hawthorns.

Albion operate with a system in which the head coach works under a sporting and technical director, Dan Ashworth, a hierachy that Allardyce does not like as be the manager should have the final say on all footballing matters.

Not sure if Albion would have been a good choice for Allardyce anyway based on their style of play. West Brom under Di Matteo have played a short-passing style of football which is not the style that Big Sam is known for.

West Brom are expected to turn their attention to the likes of Roy Hodgson, Chris Hughton, former Albion skipper Derek McInnes and ex-West Brom player Martin Jol who have already been linked with a move to the Hawthorns.
