Young takes a cornerBecoming a new addition at Manchester United surely brings a pressure for any players including for the Red Devils’ latest signing, Ashley Young, who is well aware at the competition he will get there just to secure a starting spot.

However, just like many ambitious talents, instead of dropping his confidence, the tough task that Young will face at Old Trafford is being seen as a big challenge by the winger that will improve his quality even more.

There’s a lot of competition for places at the club. If you are in the team there is always going to be someone biting away at your heels trying to get in,” Young said. “I’m going to be coming in looking to establish myself in the team. I know it is going to be a challenge, but I’m up for that challenge. I hope to be a part of that this season. I can’t wait to get started.”

Moreover, the soon to be 26-years-old England international also revealed that playing for a big club like United has always been a dream that he has and now that his dream finally arrived, the ex-Aston Villa player doesn’t want to ruin it. The winger hopes that he can be an important part of United’s team next season and helped them to win titles, at the very least grabbing the club’s 20th premiership glory beating away other big challengers.

As a child I always wanted to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world and I’ve got that opportunity now. I’ve just got to take it with two hands. To come and play for one of the biggest clubs in the world, it is an opportunity that I couldn’t turn down, to play with such great players that play for this club and to hopefully become part of the history of winning the 20th title,” the winger added.

Considering his playing characteristic, Young’s arrival will definitely challenge the post of Antonio Valencia, Luis Nani and also Park Ji-Sung, creating a much more competitive spirit on United’s wide area. The fact that the former Villa star is also an England international, surely he will try to push hard in getting plenty playing time at Old Trafford, so his place in the national team will remain.

Man United reportedly cashed out fee around 16-20 million Pound to snatch Young from Villa, beating the competition of other premier league teams, such as Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspurs, who also rumored to be interested on the player. The England international is the second signing that United have made so far after picking up England under-21 defender, Phil Jones, from Blackburn Rovers a few days ago.
