Arsenal‘s performance this season have been far from convincing and the below par performances from some of their player are being said as one of the main culprit for it.
One of those receiving many criticism recently is Russian’s Andrey Arshavin, who even admitted to public that he should have done much more for the Gunners.
Arshavin understand that he has been receiving many minor voices from lots of people including the Gunners fans and the Russian international actually agreed with those opinion as the player believes he could do more for his club. The former Zenit St. Petersburg player revealed that even he himself is hoping to provide more for Arsenal although the attacking midfielder confessed that he already give everything he could on the pitch.
“They should expect more from me, of course. They should expect some more tricks, goals and unbelievable passes. To be honest I am still expecting more from me as well. But believe me, I do everything I can do,” Arshavin stated. “I just have to give everything I can at the moment, just on the pitch. I want to score more goals and bring my team to the title.”
The Russian international hasn’t really been performing as good as many predict when the player first arrive at Emirates few seasons ago, especially after the former Zenit star played brilliantly for his previous club and country. However, Arshavin’s improvement since his first season hasn’t really reached to its peak as his influence along with consistency on the pitch showed signs of decrease instead of the opposite.
This season could very well be the final year for Arshavin at Emirates as his not actually a young player anymore and should he fails to produce the influence that Arsene Wenger expects, than moving away would be the step for the Russian. Rumors have been circulating previously stating that the likes of Chelsea and Zenit St Petersburg are interested in grabbing the 29-years-old, despite his currently declining form.
