by Dewa Nugraha on October 5, 2011

Wojciech SzczesnyArsenal‘s performances in this early part of the season maybe inconsistent but they still have several top notch performers on the pitch and young goal keeper, Wojciech Szczesny, is undoubtedly one of those who have been playing very well so far.

Already receiving the status as one of the club’s important players, Szczesny apparently has an ambition to become the club’s captain in the future as the Poland international believe he is ready to take responsibility in the squad.

Szczesny also feels that his teammates have a huge respect for him especially on the pitch as the keeper confessed how the other players always listens to him, every time the young goal keeper shout out his thought. Obviously the chance for the Polish international in acquiring his ambition is possible at least becoming the deputy from Robin Van Persie if the keeper can keep on performing consistently for the Gunners.

“I want to be the captain of the team. I feel that I am able to take on that responsibility. I always wanted to be captain and if I ever get that honour, I will gladly put on the armband. I feel that when I say something, everyone listens to me. More so on the field than in the dressing room, but that’s more important I think,” Szczesny stated.

However, despite admitting his dream in becoming Arsenal’s captain, the keeper also honestly stating that he can’t really promised to spent the rest of his career with the London outfit as there’s nothing certain in the future. Szczesny added that should he decided to leave the Emirates it would only because an important offer arrives from top club such as Barcelona, as financial issues won’t likely be the main thing that Szczesny after.

I can’t declare that I will spend my entire career here, but if I leave I will have a very important reason or I will go to Barcelona. I can’t imagine a situation where I would leave this club just for money,” the young shot stopper added.
