Arsenal Eying Valencia’s Juan Mata

Emirates Cup12Arsenal‘s management promises in making heavy investment this summer looks to be heading in the right direction as latest reports suggested that the Gunners have already seeking on several high quality players for next summer.

After being linked with Gervinho and Ricky Alvarez, the latest reports from England media suggested that, Arsene Wenger’s side are now eying the service of Valencia’s winger/attacking midfielder, Juan Mata, who plays an important role in Spain u21 victory in the latest UEFA Euro under 21 competition.

Mata who is known pretty versatile in the midfield area, reportedly is being set as the future replacement for either Cesc Fabregas or Samir Nasri, who could leave the London club this summer following heavy interest from other teams. Reports also claim that in order to sign the 23-years-old player, Wenger is not afraid to provide a pretty high cash for Valencia as the Gunners looks set to smash their’ previous signing record made for Andrei Arshavin few seasons ago.

The problem would now relies on whether Valencia will be willing to sell one of their best players after already cashing out on David Villa and David Silva not long ago. Losing another important act such as Mata would once again decreased El Che’s strength in the upcoming season where they supposedly have an ambition to give much better fight in La Liga with Real Madrid and Barcelona, not to mention competing in Champions League as well.

The Gunners’ attraction towards Mata is surely an encouraging signs for the fans, but still the London club’s market strategy so far look interesting as they are looking at several attacking minded players instead of defenders, despite that area was pretty much the weakness from the club last season. This strategy gives the impression that Arsene Wenger might really be ready to depart with some of the club’s top midfield players for the upcoming season.
