Aquilani Opens For A Liverpool Return

by Dewa Nugraha on May 14, 2011

Liverpool Football ClubSuccessfully shaking off his injury issues for pretty much a season long, Alberto Aquilani once again become an interest in the transfer market and considering the latest report that Juventus are reportedly not willing to pay out the fee that Liverpool asked, the midfielder’s future hangs in the balance.

However, after previous report suggesting that the Reds’ new boss, Kenny Dalglish, is keen on getting the ex As Roma player back to Anfield, Aquilani reportedly softened his persistence in staying in Italy and would also welcome a return to premier league.

This possibility was revealed by Aquilani’s agent, Franco Zavaglia, who stated that Juventus and Liverpool doesn’t seem to find an agreement adding that his client actually doesn’t have any objection should he must return to Anfield. Zavaglia also stated that the most important thing is the ex-Roma player has already managed to shake off the injury problems his been having in the past few seasons, meaning that he could be more than a useful player for any club including the Reds.

Juve want to sign Aquilani on a permanent basis, but they also want a discount from Liverpool on a price-tag that is effectively a little steep. Clearly, if Alberto were to return to one of the top teams in the Premier League, then he wouldn’t be unhappy. He did sign a five-year contract with Liverpool,” said Zavaglia. “The important thing is that he had a good season and washed away those rumours he was constantly injured.”

This news could very well indicating that Juventus may have already gave up on the Reds demand and opted to get another player instead, as rumors are floating wildly stating that the Turin giant are closing in on securing Andrea Pirlo’s service and monitoring Fiorentina’s captain, Ricardo Montolivo. Aquilani himself have been playing quite well this season, although he seems to have a dip of form in the last few couple of weeks, causing the Bianconeri struggling to even getting into Europa League zone at the moment.

Aside from Liverpool and Juventus, recently Aquilani has also been linked with a move to the newly crowned Serie A champion, Ac Milan, who reportedly considering to purchase the Italian international should some of their old guards decided to leave. With his versatile character in the midfield, the ex-Roma man is surely one of the players that Milan can use in the coming season especially should the lose the likes of Andrea Pirlo and Clarence Seedorf in the summer.

However, returning back to Liverpool in the summer would actually be an exciting option for Aquilani since the Reds looks to be building a strong force that could really compete next season, seeing how fast their improvement after being taken by Dalglish. Moreover, with the fact that the Merseyside’s new boss looks very interested in using the Italian’s talent next season, the ex-Roma player might actually find a better luck in the premier league.
