Having already acquired the service of Emmanuele Adebayor in the summer transfer window apparently still doesn’t pleased Tottenham Hotspurs hunger for another forward as reports from Italy suggested that the London outfit are close in signing Carvalho Amauri from Juventus.
Revealed by renown agent, Ernesto Bronzetti, Amauri’s chance in landing at Spurs is pretty big, compared to other options.
However, Bronzetti did reveal that there’s a competition for Spurs in acquiring the Brazilian born Italian international but the London club for the moment are leading the race albeit nothing concrete is being signed as just yet. Should the deal does happened, it would probably mean that Harry Redknapp’s team are ready to part ways with one of their attackers, with Roman Pavluychenko being the main candidate to depart from White Hart Lane.
He (Amauri) should go and play in England with Tottenham. Nothing has been signed yet though. There is also the possibility that he could join an Italian club, but I won’t tell you which one. Let’s say that there is a 70 per cent chance that he’ll move abroad and a 30 per cent chance that he’ll stay in the peninsula,” Bronzetti said.
Amauri is currently being ‘frozen’ away by Juventus after refusing a move to Marseille in the summer, despite the Turin giant’s management already revealed to the player that he isn’t being considered as part of the plan this season. However, because of his high wages, there’s a difficulty for several interested teams to get hold of him in the summer, including the French outfit, who only offered less than half of what the striker currently earned.
Considering their financial ability, Spurs supposedly can still offer a pretty good wages for Amauri but the question would be whether the London club can promise more playing time for the striker considering the availability of Adebayor and Jermaine Defoe. Should Pavlyuchenko really leaves, than the ex-Palermo forward get be considered as the back up striker for the Lilywhites main outlet, but would Amauri still want that role or not remains questionable.
