2009/2010 Premier League Predictions Players & Clubs

Best Overall Squad

Yes, the tide has shifted and judging from the potential individual winners for next year you should know by now that I think Chelsea will most likely be crowned Best Squad of 2010.  Chelsea just seems to be a complete squad to me.  They have an excellent keeper, a tough defense, one of the best midfielders in the world, and two different strikers with the potential to win the Golden Boot Award.  So far in the preseason Chelsea has been the strongest squad and they look to continue to be the best in the top tier throughout the regular season.

Best Offensive Squad

Liverpool is our projected winner for Best Offense next year in the Premier League.  Actually Liverpool scored more goals then Manchester United last season, so doing so this year should be no big deal for the Reds.  With Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard on their side, balls should be routinely flying into the back of the net once again this year.  Liverpool may be disappointed for not being the projected best, but best offense isn’t too shabby either.

Best Defensive Club

I couldn’t go the entire preview without giving Manchester United one team award.  I mean they were the best club in the league the last three seasons running.  And although Van der Sar will likely miss a minimum of a month with an injury, the club will pick up slack with the keeper out and continue to play hard fought football despite the loss.  Man U is season after season among the league’s best defenses so next year should remain the same despite key offensive losses.
